Department of Water and Environmental Regulation in Western Australia has annouced that the cup lids enfourcement begins 1 March 2024, it is said, the sale and supply of plastic lids for cups made wholly or partly from plastic will be phased out from 27th Feb 2023, the ban includes bioplastic lids and plastic-lind paperboard lids. The enforcement of the ban on plastic lids for cups will commence on 1 March 2024.(See enclosement)
We believe the ban of single-use lids will be taken effective in whole world very soon.
What alternatives are there?
There are 100% biodegradable and compostable fibre-based non-plastic lids suitable for hot and cold drinks, which do not contain any plastic lining, coating, laminate or dispersion layer.
